Access Your Computer – From Anywhere!

Did you know you could use your home PC from just about any location in the world? How about accessing your office PC from home?

Imagine going to work on Friday and not finishing your day's work, then flying half way round the world and finishing off the day's activities by connecting to your own desktop PC.

This kind of technology is no longer out of your reach. You can set up long distance network connections without the high leased line costs of the past, instead you can use a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

A VPN will allow you to securely create a network via the internet, allowing you to access data or PCs that are connected to the VPN. For example, you could create a network connection to your PC at home, then go on holiday and connect to your home PC from any Internet Café. Or, you could create a network with another company in another country and have a fully working connection to them as if you were on their local network.

There are enormous benefits in being able to connect directly to your desktop PC from any remote location with internet access.  While on the move you can connect to your home or office as if you were actually there, even taking control of your office PC keyboard and mouse, using your own applications and seeing your own data. No more worrying about transferring data, or e-mailing vast files back to your office. You can even check on your staff to ensure they are doing their work, the accounts look right and the invoices are paid.

Of course you will be worried about security. If you can access your PC can anyone else? Well there are many security protocols that look after your VPN connection and keep it "private". You may have heard of firewalls, encryption, AAA Servers or IPS, but you do not have to understand all this technical stuff. Contact your local Computer Troubleshooters office and they will gladly discuss the business benefits, security and ease of setting up a VPN. This technology is now viable for the small or home business and can be extremely cost effective to set up. Best of all you do not need to be a technical guru to use and maintain your connection; you may even use it to allow you to take that well-earned vacation!
